This year’s Annual Meeting of the Membership was held on Saturday, June 12th. With the uncertainty of Covid restrictions, we had a drive-through registration held at the Winchester Grade School. After the drive-through registration, a business meeting was held at the Scott County Fairgrounds.
Board President Tom Meehan welcomed members to the meeting and shared about the overall state of the co-op. President Meehan told members that their board of directors is a group of individuals committed to looking out for the members’ best interests.
Board Treasurer Jim Freeman reported on the co-op’s financials. Mr. Freeman highlighted that we retired about $1 million in capital credits to current and former members in the past year.
General Manager Randy Long discussed the electric system and internet operations. Mr. Long discussed improving the internet system with new
technology and applying for grants to help with the cost of improvements. Mr. Long then answered questions from members.
Mark Heffington spoke on behalf of the nominating committee. With the cancelation of the 2020 Annual Meeting, the committee nominated seven directors: Julia Eberlin to serve as a Director representing District 9; Luke Fraley as a Director representing District 5; Kevin Brannan to serve as Director representing District 10; and Julie Rhoads to serve as a Director representing District 11. In addition, directors nominated by the committee in 2020 and on the ballot this year:
Jenna Morrow to serve as a Director representing District 1; Jim Freeman to serve as Director representing District 3; and Kevin Klein to serve as Director
representing District 7. All sevens directors on the ballot were re-elected by the membership.
Everyone at the co-op would like to thank all of our members who made it out to the meeting this year. After being unable to hold a meeting in 2020, it was great to see so many familiar faces.
