Cost of Purchased Power: The estimated cost of purchased power for 2022 is $0.09 per kilowatt hour (kWh) for Rate Schedules A, B and LP. The actual costs will be billed. The charges, below, for the various rates classes do not include purchased power.
Taxes and Other Government Charges: All rates are subject to Illinois sales tax, the lesser of $0.0032 per kWh or 5% of the gross bill. The cooperative participates in the Illinois Supplemental Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, and $0.40 per meter is included for residential accounts and $4.00 for commercial accounts. Some municipalities impose a franchise fee, and that is included when necessary.
Service Point: The service point is the point of connection between the facilities owned by the cooperative and the premises wiring owned by the member. This is further defined as the connection at the load end of the cooperative’s service drop, either overhead or underground, and the line side of the member owned meter loop. Any premise wiring beyond this point is owned by the member.
Electric Motors: No consumer may use an electric motor rated more than ten (10) horsepower without the approval of the manager of engineering and the general manager. At the sole discretion of the cooperative, soft starters may be required on motors rated more than (10) horsepower.
Power Factor: The cooperative’s wholesale power contract requires it to maintain a power factor throughout its system at 95% or higher. Therefore, the cooperative may require protective devices, as specified by the cooperative, to be installed at the members’ expense at locations where members’ load factors are below 95%.
Demand Charges: The demand charge for certain rate classes shall be calculated upon the total demand at the location served including that created by the cooperative’s electric deliveries to the member and that created by the member’s distributed demand.
Irrigation Services: Accounts at which irrigation is the principal use may be served by either 19 Hour Service or Interruptible Irrigation Service, but irrigation may not be the principal use on other rate schedules.
Irrigation and Interruptible Services: It is the consumer’s sole responsibility to end service when notified to do so. Consumers will be notified by telephone, and, in those instances when a voice mail message is left, that message will constitute notification.
Cooperative Policy: All consumers must comply with the cooperative’s policies which are available at www.e-co-op.com.
